On Monday, October 22, 2018, eligible Oakville voters will cast their vote for Mayor, Members of Council (town and Regional), Regional Chair and School Board Trustees.
The Town of Oakville is sharing important information with the community to ensure that eligible voters are ready to vote in the upcoming election.
You can check to see if your name is on the voters’ list online. Not on the list? You can add your name to the list easily using our new online form.
To vote in the Oakville municipal election you must be:
To vote, you must have your voter card and acceptable ID. The town will mail voter cards on September 17, 2018. Watch for it! If you don’t receive your voter card by the end of September, contact the Clerk’s department by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 905-815-6015.
Your ward may have changed! Oakville’s new seven-ward boundary system will be used to conduct the municipal election and will officially be in place on December 1, 2018. To accommodate the new Ward 7, which captures neighbourhoods north of Dundas Street, adjustments have been made to all existing ward boundaries except Ward 3. Visit the Election website to confirm the ward you live in using our interactive map. Your ward will also be listed on your voter card.
Avoid voting day line ups and take advantage of our advanced voting opportunities. You can vote at any one of the advance voting locations regardless of where you live in town. Find advance voting locations, dates and times on your voter card or on the Where do I vote page.
On voting day, you can vote at any one location in the ward you live in. Voting locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Locations will be listed on your voter card and online.
All locations are accessible and election officials have been trained to provide accessible customer service. Accessible voting equipment will be available at Town Hall during advance voting and on voting day, and will be open to all voters regardless of where they live town.
